Radio Frequency Fingerprinting Exploiting Non-Linear Memory Effect

چکیده

Radio frequency fingerprint (RFF) identification distinguishes wireless transmitters by exploiting their hardware imperfection that is inherent in typical radio (RF) front ends. This can reduce the risks for identities of legitimate devices being copied, or forged, which also occur conventional software-based systems. paper analyzes feasibility device unique non-linear memory effect transmitter RF chains consisting matched pulse shaping filters and power amplifiers (PAs). feature be extracted from received distorted constellation diagrams (CDs) with help image recognition-based classification algorithms. In order to validate performance proposed RFF approach, experiments are carried out cabled over air (OTA) scenarios. experiment, average accuracy among systems 8 PAs (4 same model other 4 different models) around 92% at signal noise ratio (SNR) 10 dB. For OTA line-of-sight (LOS) scenario, 90% SNR dB; non-line-of-sight (NLOS) 79% 12

Radio-frequency dressed atoms beyond the linear Zeeman effect

We evaluate the impact that nonlinear Zeeman shifts have on resonant radio-frequency (RF) dressed traps in an atom-chip configuration. The degeneracy of the resonance between Zeeman levels is lifted at large intensities of a static field, modifying the spatial dependence of the atomic adiabatic potential. In this context, we find effects that are important for the next generation of atom chips ...

Detection of Transient in Radio Frequency Fingerprinting Using Signal Phase

ABSTRACT Radio Frequency Fingerprinting (RFF) is a technique, which has been used to identify wireless devices. It essentially involves the detection of the transient signal and the extraction of the fingerprint. The detection phase, in our opinion, is the most challenging yet crucial part of the RFF process. Current approaches, namely Threshold and Bayesian Step Change Detector, which use ampl...

Detecting rogue devices in bluetooth networks using radio frequency fingerprinting

Unauthorized Bluetooth devices or rogue devices can impersonate legitimate devices through address and link key spoofing. Moreover, they can infiltrate a Bluetooth network and initiate other forms of attacks. This paper investigates a novel intrusion detection approach, which makes use of radio frequency fingerprinting (RFF) for profiling, Hotelling’s T 2 statistics for classification and a dec...

An Overview of Radio Frequency Fingerprinting for Low-End Devices

RF fingerprinting is proposed as a means of providing an additional layer of security for wireless devices. A masquerading or impersonation attacks can be prevented by establishing the identity of wireless transmitter using unique transmitter RF fingerprint. Unique RF fingerprints are attributable to the analog components (digital-to-analog converters, band-pass filters, frequency mixers and po...
